I sent mine off on Friday and on Monday I had message saying I will hear from them within 4 weeks. I applied for it last time in 2021 and I’m sure I heard from them fairly quickly
I am also threatening about this I was supposed to go off on maternity 19th January (due to high risk of pre term baby) and my employer told me 4 days before. So frustrating as I'm salaried but because I had sick pay during the period the asses the statutory maternity pay I fell below the threshold. I read somewhere that they do back pay if they don't sort the claim out in time for your leaving date however this isn't confirmed or denied on their website. I have moved my maternity back a month and sent my forms off Monday. I got a text Tuesday saying they have received my claim and will contact within 4 weeks with a decision but there's no mention about time frame from the decision and the first payment either. I'm in the same situation and pray they sort it asap. I've had to go back to work for a month ( 2 weeks work and 2 weeks annual leave) just so I'm guaranteed a salary in February. Mine was received Tuesday so I will let you know when they get back to me x
Applied for this and sent my letter 31st December… received a text a week later saying they will review within 4 weeks. Just had something through the post this week (3 weeks later) which is a form to complete and send for when ill stop my work. Hope this helps
@Amy I am going off at 33 weeks as finding it all too much, I work in childcare and it is hard work! It’s unfair that our employers didn’t tell us sooner! Infact I only found out by calling HMRC myself 🤦♀️ I will still be going off at 33 weeks just because I want to keep my baby safe! I heard today that they have received my claim so hopefully it will all be okay! Best of luck with everything🤞xx
I applied in 2023 for my daughter. They send you a text when they receive it - mine said they’d have a decision within 4 weeks but I’m fairly certain mine was only two weeks or so!
