Is it weird to let my boyfriend who’s not the dad change my babies diaper?

I gave birth 2 days ago and just got released from the hospital and the one who stayed with me in the hospital was my current boyfriend who is trying his best to learn how to be a father figure to my 2 children and I showed him how to change my daughter’s diaper while we were in the hospital in case I was asleep and because I thought since he was gonna be apart of our lives he might as well know and he said he would change her if I wanted him to and I’m completely fine with it but when we got back home my mother and my brother had something to say about it saying that he shouldn’t be changing her diaper and that it was weird and that I shouldn’t let him do that and I explained that I wouldn’t be with him if I didn’t think it was safe for him to change my kids and that it wasn’t weird and they keep telling him not to change her and to get me to do it in snarky tones but he wants to let me rest and help out and show them he is trying his best to learn how to be a father figure am I in the wrong here or something??
