High blood pressure

I’m 34 weeks pregnant and just been to see the midwife and had my first ever high blood pressure reading of 140/83 then a second at 136/78 I don’t see anyone for another two weeks but I can test at home When should I be concerned and what will happen if I have consistently high readings

Mine is around this but they said it’s fine and they wouldn’t do anything unless protein in my wee too x I went in last week with high blood pressure and really swollen feet and legs but they said it’s not preeclampsia unless protein in wee too and was sent home x

@Shauna this is useful to know!!! Thanks Shauna. I didn’t have protein in my wee nor do I have any swelling at all! What was very interesting was I actually came home and finally got to eat dinner (I was super hungry as I’d missed my afternoon snack and i have gestational diabetes so I have to eat little and often) as after I’d eaten I check half an hour later and it went down to 120/74

They also told me never check at home unless advised as I was using an at home machine and it was coming up 176/122 yet when I got to the hospital it was around same as yours so the midwives told me not to check at home unless advised as sometimes the machines are not calibrated to pregnancy and the cuffs are sometimes the wrong size xx

@Shauna thanks 🙏 for this! Yeah it’s always so worrying I don’t seem to have any other symptoms so I’m hoping I’m okay xx
