Everything doesn’t feel real

I’m making this post because even before I gave birth, things haven’t been feeling too real to me. Like when I look at my child he doesn’t seem real, when I’m in the car looking out the window the sights don’t look real either. If I’m making sense. Idk what it is that’s making me like that. It’s been this way before I gave birth also. Just wanted to share this. Sorry if I’m not making any sense.

Depersonalization-derealization disorder occurs when you always or often feel that you're seeing yourself from outside your body or you sense that things around you are not real — or both. Feelings of depersonalization and derealization can be very disturbing. You may feel like you're living in a dream.

Definitely understand after I had my baby I felt so outs of my body things just felt like a movie or something someone was just telling me

I know this is real. Usually from stress. If you want to real more it’s on the Mayo Clinic

right before and right after my baby was born. I felt like that. I’m just now starting to feel like things are real and he’s almost 2 months.

You are not alone!!

I understand this same feeling it’s like I can’t accept reality is real… weird to explain

I had this! And have had it many times in life. There are various grounding exercises to get back connected to your body. Yoga is helpful, oddly I found getting my nails done was too— because of the touch on each finger lol I know that sounds dumb. But overall try not to focus on it too much, I noticed that makes it worse. I hope you come back to yourself soon 💜❤️‍🩹
