Girl names

Hello! I’ve found out we are having a baby girl today! 💕 Over the moon as we already have a 2 year old little boy! I really like the name ‘Florrie’ - a version of Florence which means ‘flourish or blossoming’. I haven’t really heard it being used in the U.K. and would love people’s honest opinions? I was thinking of Florrie Anne, after my middle name.

I’ve never heard of this before but I really like it!xx

I’d go with Florence and you can call her Florrie, then she has the choice of whether she goes by that or Florrie when she’s older x

Florrie is super cute - i love both Florrie and Flossie as nicknames for Florence. i love that Florrie isn't popular in the UK, yet it fits in with the current trend of vintage names like Nellie, Winnie, Bonnie, Hattie etc, and also has such a pretty meaning! 🌸

Thankyou! It’s such a beautiful name with a lovely meaning too. Florrie was a popular name in its own right in English Victorian times before dying out and hasn’t reached popularity yet which is why I love it even more! 🩷

I have a 2 year old Florence who wants to be known as Florrie now! I think going with Florence and having the option to shorten works best to have the choice when older but obviously it's whichever you prefer.
