I gave my little one broccoli, sweet potato and Greek yogurt for his first solids so yes those would be fine! Unsure on the wafer
You can start with anything ☺️
@Kristy generally in BLW you don't limit to one at a time
My babies first meal was a roast minus the gravy. If you want to go full on with baby led weaning, I’d recommend giving them exactly what you’re having minus any salt etc xx
@Louise they are like baby wafers made out of fruit , i tried one and they literally just melt in your mouth , and they’re not half bad either😂
As long as there are no common allergens in the wafer, then yes I think that’s fine! You should introduce allergens one at a time, so if you’re introducing yoghurt/dairy today then wait until another day to introduce any others, just in case there is a reaction. If they are those kiddilicious rice wafers then those are fine to do alongside dairy (and I agree they are tasty 😂)
Sounds good. Quarter the broccoli and expect yoghurt everywhere, maybe try a preloaded spoon but he'll probably just use his hands!
Sorry but how old is your baby? If he's 6 months old, he cannot have yogurt as of yet. Broccoli is fine ans the wafer depends of the ingredients. However, it is recommended to start with 1 food and introducing day by day any new foods, as to discard any possible allergies. Allergenic foods need to be introduced 3 consecutive days.
@Monika a 6 month old can have yogurt..
@Megan a soya yogurt yes, but cow yogurt, milk and all lacteos derivates are not recommended at this age because their body still cannot manage it. At least these are the recommendations of the Spanish Pediatric Association in Spain where I live.
@Monika in the UK we are told it is fine to feed them dairy, they just shouldn't drink milk as it fills them up and they won't have their breast or formula
@Carys I find the opposite, she much prefers spoons to her hands
@Monika well in the UK cow yogurt is fine. So is using milk in cooking or cereals/porridge. It's just not advised to be given to drink.
Well I guess different countries have different recommendations then 🤷🏼♀️

@Rhiannon yes they are the kiddilicious ones !😂
@T-Louise haha thought so! When bubs gets a bit older their raspberry & beetroot buttons are banging 🤣🤣
@Monika it is a weird recommendation to say no dairy really since so many babies are on formula 🤷🏼♀️
@Rhiannon is it safe to introduce an allergen on the first day? i completed forgot yogurt was dairy!
Yes of course @T-Louise it’s best you try allergen foods first so you get a head start on any of them! I took my LO to an A&E car park and gave her peanut butter at 7 months. We sat there for 2 hours having fun lol, but if anything had happened, we’d be right there to get help! So yes, try ALL of the allergen foods and don’t be scared!!!
@T-Louise yes! I introduced dairy on the first day! It is best to introduce them one at a time and it can take more than one try for intolerances/allergic reactions to show. I’m introducing dairy over a week period x
Hi! Goodluck with the BLW. I haven’t personally done it yet as my baby is only due in 2 weeks. But I have seen many people recommending just trying one type of food to start so that it’s not so overwhelming. All the best!
