Husbands one big ICK

I use a leash for him when outside because he’s very fast. My husband regrettably joined us yesterday. I asked him to hold the leash while I drink my water. The leash came out of his grasp at some point and he said “you get it” I completely shut down after that cause 1. He’s your kid too. 2. What a dick. He asked me what was wrong w me , I told him how I felt. He then responds “ why can’t you perform your womanly duty and you control him” When I tell you please be careful who you have kids with 😵‍💫 I responded with “are we in the 1500s, wtf” I can’t imagine my dad saying that, any of my exes. They all would’ve taken pride in holding him in any way needed….

Sorry you have to deal with him. He sounds horrible. Did you not see the signs before you married him?

@Sika sadly there were none.

Hard to believe tbh. A genuinely kind person doesn’t just become a dick because they have a disabled kid. You may have overlooked the signs and snarky comments. Anywho, you don’t need that energy in your life and should leave him.

*hugs* Is he open to family counseling to help ya’ll with raising a special needs son? I feel you on these issues. My man is kind of similar. And to those who are rushing to tell you to leave him, just breathe. I would take a step back, and when you are both calm and pleasant, simply ask him how would he feel if he was doing his best, ended up needing help with a task regardless to what it is, one that you could easily meet, and you told him simply no because it’s HIS job and he needs to get better control of his responsibilities? Remind him to not look at picking apart what was said, but how that would make him feel, how he would internally process rejection like that from someone, anyone he valued, and whether or not he is willing to help you guys get better rather than worse off? *hugs* You are not alone, my dear. And when men get married and have kids, those can be life changing events for them that brings out sides of them we have never seen before. You know?

This is terrible! I’m so sorry.

My ex has completely changed also after we became parents and he made the same comments about wife's duties or mum's duties. Shocking! I feel you! 🫂

So sorry to hear this. I hope it was a blip and never happens again. For me it’s a reminder why I choose to stay single and raise my kids in peace.

People can say be careful with who you choose to be your children's father. Which really sucks for us females, especially mothers. Sticks and stones Mama Bear, you are strong.
