Many kids are like this. Try not to stress it!
@Emmo he doesn’t necessarily but don’t know if he’s getting everything he needs if he doesn’t
@Femi I have multiple friends who have never eaten meat in their lives and are thriving.
Meant to add that if you’re concerned about if they’re getting the nutrients they need chat with their pediatrician or you can consult a nutritionist. There’s lots of protein options out there, that aren’t meat, that are excellent for kiddos.
Definitely worth trying plant based proteins he may possibly prefer and you can feel better about what he’s eating? Eg, lentils, beans, tofu, nut/seed butters, certain veggies xx
Iv tried him on beans and lentils and he doesn’t like those either and I have a very severe nut allergy 🙈 will try the tofu see if he likes that x
@Femi have you tried serving them in different ways? Like houmous, falafel, bean burgers, adding lentils to bolognese, shepherds pie, lasagne etc
@Jessica he’s on and off hummus so keep trying that but not tried falafel or bean burger will try those they sound like a good idea. Iv hidden the lentils in things before he’s not daft 😂xx
@Femi no they aren’t daft 😂 you could try blending them in a sauce maybe x
@Femi you can make a creamy sauce with blended silken tofu if they don't like firm tofu
Lentil based pasta? I think you possibly can get chickpea pasta too 🤔 worth a look! Does he eat dairy and eggs?
Honestly for me if there’s things my boys won’t eat I just blend it into things 🤣 like they wouldn’t eat whole bean quesadillas but if I blend it up first then put it on they’ll eat it no problem! Hide lentils in soup, chickpea hummus of course, they love firm tofu lots of ways but I’ll even blend silken tofu into cheese sauces to up the protein/calcium. Those are all good iron sources too x
Have you tried grounding it?
Same here hahaha. I think the only thing he really eats is a lasagna or meatballs (if in the mood). He completely refuses any kind of chicken, lamb or pork. He likes fish more than meat I’ve noticed so I do more fish based dinners

Meat isnt nutritionally necessary especially if he’s eating a wide variety of foods. I would talk to your pediatrician about supplementing omegas if he doesn’t eat fish, and b12 if he doesn’t eat diary or eggs.
Why does he have to?
