@Jade thank you! Unfortunately my family has leaned onto fruit purées to feed my girl so she’s got a preference so I’ll have us try to focus on vegetables when we start blw 🤞
@Anne omg thank you so much! That’s super helpful! We haven’t started with solids yet besides purées so I’m gonna try your advice soon!
@Anna you’re welcome! our pediatrician told us the sooner we could introduce allergens the better (once she was food ready at 6 months). we didn’t introduce fruit until 8 months (as per pediatricians advice) so baby didnt develop an overly sweet palette. my toddler loves vegs now and wont eat sugary foods. early eating days are messy and fun! enjoy! https://solidstarts.com/allergies-babies/
I lived by the solid starts app. You search a food and it shows you how to safely serve to baby by age. We didn’t do purees. First foods were avocado, black beans and broccoli. Solid starts have great info on introducing allergens too. I always offered a very small amount for the first introduction, waited to see how the day went and offered a little more the next day. I also introduced allergens at breakfast or lunch time so i had more waking hours of observing baby, which was very helpful when she did have reactions to eggs. And as you work towards solids, you can start letting baby self feed (if you arent already). Depending on their age, offering a preloaded spoon may be helpful. Have fun 🫶🏽
