Comfort milks?

I don’t know if I’m going mad but we got HIPP comfort milk today as we’ve exhausted every other option regarding colic/constipation/belly pains (infacol/gripewater/laxatives/winding techniques). When we made it, it was not thick at all (the side of the box said it would be thicker than normal formula 🤷‍♀️). We are currently on normal aptamil and we were advised (by hv) to switch formulas in case it’s that causing the issues. We thought to try comfort milks as they say the things on the box that we need help with 😅 Do I try other comfort milks? Or do I just try a different brand of normal milk? Do I push for cmpa milk with gp? Does that milk have the same taste and consistency as the comfort milk? (Probably gross… but I tasted both the HiPP comfort and normal aptamil. The HiPP was unsweetened/ like palm oil tasting. Aptamil was sweet and thicker. So I thought no wonder she finds it disgusting and drank none basically 😂). Please help a desperate mother.

It’s not really thick it’s just a bit thicker x You can all add in a product called carobel x we did this with our comfort milk also x it’s just a thickening agent

@Leah id say it’s thinner than normal aptamil though?

@Carys definitely shouldn’t be thinner x I’d contact them. Maybe you have a dodgy box. Are you sure it’s the comfort one lol (baby brain)

Were currently on Cow & Gate Comfort milk as gp thinks my baby has colic as she was very irritable every after feed. We also add infacol & she seems to have settled down. Idk if its relevant but we combi feed her (formula by day & breastfeed on demand + night feeds) Hope this helps! I switched from normal cow and gate to comfort cow and gate and she is so much better with it! She had colic and constipation and it’s completely made her into a different happy baby! I know every babies different but it worked for us x

@Britney I’m tempted to try the aptamil comfort version then. As she does drink the aptamil 1. It’s just the wind/colic/constipation we have issues with.

@Carys both both used aptamil then changed to aptamil comfort - we used the same brand

@Carys can I ask how You have got on? Iv bought Hipp comfort today but scared to try it! Her vaccinations are Friday so don’t want to rock the boat too much but the colic crying last night was intense

@Jess she didn’t like it. Pulled lots of disgusted faces 😂. Thought to myself surely it’s not that different. So did a little taste test myself and aptamil is sweet and HiPP is not. But every baby is different do give it ago. I tried aptamil comfort thinking that would be better but same reaction to that😂. Who would do thought babies would be so fussy?! X
