Part Time Work Question

For those who work part time (I work 3 days a week, have my children at home with me the other 2) when do you do things like dentist appointments, do you do those on your days off or during work hours?

If I can’t get childcare like from her dad or my mum then during work hours but try for first thing or the end of the day

I'm a teacher so I usually try to make my dentist appointments for between the end of school and when I have to pick my little boy up from nursery. If I couldn't squeeze it in then it would be very difficult! I guess I'd go on my day off and take him with me.

Check your policy at work and see what it says. Ours says try to arrange on a day off or at the beginning or end of your day but if you can’t, then speak to your manager about making the time up etc.

routine dentist deffo on a day off. Drs or anything like that then it depends if they can accommodate that or if you don’t mind waiting. I had bloods on a work day this week as it’s important

Lunch break, leave an hour early from work or go in an hour late, ask a friend/relative to go with you to watch the kids while your in the appointment

I am going to be dropping to 4 days a week. I'm planning on doing it on my day off. Specialist appointments she goes to always seem to happen on a Thursday and not the Friday but my work is flexible and told me I can just take that day off and come in on the Friday instead
