Anxious - cost of living
Is anyone else feeling anxious about the constant cost-of-living increases over the last few years?
I worry about my daughter’s future. If wages and government assistance don’t keep up with rising costs, how will the next generation ever afford to own a home? How will they even be able to afford basic necessities? It feels like the system is designed to make things harder for working and low-income families while the wealthiest keep getting richer.
And then there’s all the unhelpful advice that blames poor people for being poor. They’re told to tighten their belts, cut costs, or just get a second job. Why should people be forced to live that way while corporations and the ultra-rich increase prices year after year making things which were once affordable and within our grasp so out of reach? It’s pure greed.
Something has to change. How are you all feeling about this? What’s been the hardest increase for you to manage?
I completely agree! Back in the day most women were able to stay at home and look after the children if they wanted to! And in today’s world, it’s not even an option and it is simply impossible for 1 person to run the house!
