Weaning - better times of day?

We started introducing foods to our little boy this week! He’s 6.5 months old. He’s getting on pretty well with a combination of BLW spoon feeding. Sweet potato, butternut squash, broccoli, cucumber, mashed carrot, yoghurt, baby porridge. Has anyone found a better time of day works for trying food with their little one? He’s GRUMPY af from 3-4pm onwards, so dinner times are tough. But mid morning seems to work! He’s already had a 240ml bottle by then.

My boy is 7.5 months but it's taken a good month for him to get used to it but our routine at the moment 7am - wake up 7:30 - 6/7oz milk 8:30 - solids (porridge, pancakes, toast, crumpets) 11:30 - 6oz milk 12:30/1 - solids 3:30 - 6oz milk 6:30 - 7oz milk I'll be adding in a snack/meal around 4:30 within the next few weeks

We try to feed between half an hour to an hour and a half after her first feed in the morning and the last bottle before bed. Any longer than hour and a half she becomes tired and not interested. Generally this is about 9am and 5pm

My book says earlier in the day is best because they get grumpy. We started our baby off with breakfast or lunch. Now she get both some days and sometimes something at dinner time because she gets grumpy seeing us eating and her not having anything

Some days we do breakfast if I know we'll be out, so about 45 / 1 hour after her bottle. Or she has a bottle around 11am and we do lunch about 45 mins after. Can't push too long as she only does around 2 hours awake and she needs playtime!

My boy is on 3 meals per day now at 7.5 months (he is really loving food!) I give him his food first about 20 mins before he’s due a bottle then give him the bottle after to top him up a normal day would be: 7:30 breakfast then about 6oz 10:30 bottle - anywhere between 4-6oz 13:30 lunch then bottle (around 4oz again 16:30 dinner then bottle (again normally 4 or 5oz7 19:00 bedtime bottle (normally around 6oz He used to be on 8oz and still offer him that much as he will sometimes demolish the lot still
