I've started my baby on oatmeal so far. I give that to her with her last feed before bed. It's taken a few weeks to get her to even try it without spitting it out right away. With purees, I plan on doing once a day to start with and then increasing from there.
With my oldest I started at 5months when she could sit independently with oatmeal at lunch and added in breakfast and dinner over the course of a week/week and a half maybe. At 6 months she started with soft table foods and was completely on blw by 6.5-7 months. With this one she is chilling at the table in a high chair until she can sit in assisted and then we will start her just like I did her sister
2nd time mom here. I'm planning to do much like I did with my son. We do baby led weaning but the timings are similar. We start with a single meal for a while and add meals as they get more comfortable with food. Pick a meal that makes things easy for your family. You want a meal where you won't feel rushed so you can sit with your baby without too much pressure. If possible eat when the baby has food to help them get the idea of meal times. My daughter is the end of the month birthday but once she is 4 months or so we will be putting her in the highchair during mealtimes with toys so she can see us eating but keep entertained. We are already letting her smell foods.
