Nursery government funding

Hi all I just need some advice. I had my baby at the end of August and I plan on taking a years maternity. Dose anyone know how the government funding works as I know you have to earn over £183 a week but the last three months I won’t earn anything so would I still be entitled to the funding? It’s so confusing

I’m sure my friend said that didn’t count so we’re fine as it’s maternity leave, I’m the same, I’m due back after a year so technically entitled to the September funding that comes in but I would of been on Zero, my friend works in a nursery I’ll ask her

So apparently (I called the childcare line) if you’re still employed you are entitled to the funding. I may pop into nursery this evening to double check.

My friends a manager in nursery in England. “You are fine. When you apply for funding and you haven’t gone back to work yet you put what your expected to earn in the next 3 months xx”

“I’d potentially look now as we’ve had enquiries from pregnant people they’ve come to look round and we have no space xx” I already know the waits. Someone I know has been waiting since last October and hasn’t got a space until April, and that’s without this new funding lol :/ x

Baby will get it in September, which is when you’d return to work so it’s fine. But if you didn’t return to work until October you wouldn’t get it until you go back to work & the term following that x

We registered our baby when I was 15 weeks pregnant as they advised he wouldn’t get a spot until August as they are so busy. It’s crazy

I think we're fine. I'm taking the full year but used holiday either side of mat leave, so August for me is paid holiday, and she starts in September so I'll be earning enough. It is a minefield. I have a son in preschool and was worried about his funding during my unpaid months but he only attends 15 hours and I think we're entitled to that anyway so it's fine but I definitely had some time Ed I was thinking how will I pay for this when I'm not earning, as it wasn't something I had thought about until very late in my pregnancy

I am doomed lol ! It is, you used to not have any issues when this young they’d be quiet lol

It’s within 3 months of the finding starting, not prior. So earn from Sep-Dec
