Chronic hypertension
If you had chronic hypertension how much did you need your medication adjusted and at how many weeks did you give birth?
I was on labetalol with my first pregnancy and didn’t need it adjusting at all as my blood pressure was only mildly high and below the point of medicating outside of pregnancy. In my current pregnancy it seems to be less stable and was higher pre pregnancy than it had been before.
I was on 100mg Labetalol per day (1 tablet) from 16 weeks (first pregnancy) - it was adjusted to twice a day, then three times a day etc. eventually by 28 weeks I was on 200mg four times a day and at 32 weeks I had Nifedipine 20mg, three times a day added. I was on pretty much the maximum so it was a bit of a waiting game from there... Luckily it didn't get any higher. I was induced at 36+5... I wasn't convinced the induction would work because it was so early to be induced but it all happened VERY fast and within 6 hours of the pessary my boy was born. I am 8 weeks pp now, I was checked by GP regularly after baby but by week 6 I was completely off of all medication with a completely normal blood pressure!
