Weaning?!

My LB will be 7 months next week and I’m just curious on what everyone is feeding there LO?, I personally dont like the idea of ‘meals’ as such but I’ve been giving him tastes of things (broccoli, potato, butternut squash) and little snacks like melty sticks etc, I’m trying to do BLW but it’s harder than it seems 🙈 does anyone have any idea of what I can try him with (BLW or purées) I’m just trying to get him used to different tastes and textures if anyone has any ideas on what foods to try and how to cook them please, any help would be great!

If you want to do BLW I suggest feeding him whatever you eat. That's what I do with mine ☺️

Let him try what you eat, but avoid the salt. Suggestions: Omelette, fish/rice and greens, toast, porridge. Buy a weaning book or get a weaning chart if you are struggling

We don't give ours what we eat yet as they're not easy to adapt for him and when I did try him on a more traditional meal it was the one time he didn't really eat much so I make him things for breakfast and lunch and then I eat the same 😂. I've got the joe wickes wean in 15 and what mummy makes books and they're both really good. Lots of things to make and freeze so now I've got a good stash of things to just take out the freezer and then I'll usually do some form of vegetable with it.

My girl had sausage, mash and veggies last night. Just check out solid starts so you know how to cut things appropriately ☺️

We use the Ella's kitchen and Joe Wicks books as inspiration. Mainly I have sweet potato mash, veggies and some sauces in the freezer then will add some minced chicken or fish, tinned tuna, chickpea, rice etc to make 'meals'. Adding in herbs and spices to the veg helps change it up. She loves strawberries and banana to hold and gnaw on!

Thank yous all I’m definitely going to have a look into the books, I do have Ella’s kitchen books so will read more into them too, I think he would love stuff like sausages and mash so 100% going to try that, thank yous again great help!

@Danielle I’m the same, I have twins. I sometimes of with porridge in the morning with ever blender berries or banana porridge and lunch time I give them apple and different purées that I feed to them and then give them a banana after (cut up into strips) that I pass to them and which helps them feed themselves.
