How yall leaving the house

I want to get out, go the coffee shop, go to the mall, but I don’t know how to time it and I see other moms going on and idk how they are doing it. My baby doesn’t mind car rides as long as the car is moving and the dummy is in her mouth if she needs. So a full stomach diaper changed, and in the car seat is what j thought would work, but she’s in and out of sleep and can get fussy then! Also, if she has a dirty nappy, are we changing in the car, taking off the layers cause it’s winter - it’s just all so complicated that it makes me not want to go. Any advice on how you moms are getting out

Just start with small trips and you’ll soon get used to it all and it will feel like less effort leaving. ❤️ I have to feed my little boy like 30 min before going in the car seat otherwise he can get a bit refluxy. I change in the car or in public change room, just depends what we are doing and where we are. 😊

How is she with the pushchair? Mine will sleep for a while in it. So if I'm going out I feed her, change her and then I'll have a two hour window where she will sleep.

I’m in the same boat and struggling with journeys. She cries quite a bit in the car and when we’ve been out. Next week I have to take her GP alone and dreading it.

I try to keep the car journey short and she will sleep as soon as she's in the pram, then I have probably a 1.5hr window to get coffee/shop. I haven't tried longer than that to avoid changing her while I'm out

Practice makes perfect! You’ll soon find which places are better than others to change baby and get used to what works best for you as everyone is different, it’s a bit of a trial and error journey. I can’t stand being cooped up at home so learnt to manage everything baby out and about quickly with my first so it’s been much easier this time. Happy to share what works for us but it might not be same for you!

Everything seems impossible until it's done ❤️ I've just had my second and never thought I'd get out the house with two and it really wasn't as bad as I thought!

@Madeleine same here! Baby and i dropped bigger sibling off at preschool in the morning yesterday and didnt return home until 7pm 😅 (breakfast with friends, walk, pick up sibling, ikea trip) and it was much easier than I thought.

I have changed baby in the boot of the car, and I usually check if the place I'm going to has adequate baby changing /feeding facilities. For example, Bluewater Shopping Centre in Dartford has amazing facilities

Just make sure to bring spares of everything, be prepared for blowouts, feedings, etc and you'll be fine 😊 practice makes perfect.

(and bring a spare top for yourself too, just incase 😂 speaking from experience)

Totally agree with Madeleine, it seems like it won’t ever be doable until you give it a try! The worst comes to worst, they cry for a bit or you need to change a nappy somewhere like your car. They’ll survive all those things I promise and so will you even when the crying breaks your heart, it’s so important for your own brain to get out and about.

I am currently alone with my 7 week old, charging our EV.. Did a tactical nappy change on the back seat lol. Oh, make sure to bring a spare dummy if your baby is using one, mine just spat hers out on to the floor
