Weaning issues
Hi all, my 7 month old is showing every sign of being ready to wean since they were 5 months old. We started weaning around 2 weeks ago.
Everything was going great and in the last day or so baby has completely regressed and won’t eat anything, even the food they were loving. They also gag and throw up with any texture now, whereas they weren’t doing this before. I have no issue with them just going back to breast and bottle, however, baby seems mostly disinterested by bottle and will only really feed well on the boob, so that’s what we’re doing.
I’m offering food options at every meal but I wondered if this is normal and if anyone else has experienced this?

Is it possible that they are teething? During teething period, babies just refuse every normal thing and stick to feeding breast milk or formula!

Exactly the same happened to my baby recently! And he also started to poop less often (like once a day while it used to be on average 4-5 times - he’s breastfed), and I stopped giving him his purees because anyways he wouldn’t want to have anything anymore, so suddenly, while he seemed to love it the first two weeks and always reaches for our food etc. I decided to give it time and thought maybe even though he wants it his body isn’t ready (he’ll be 7 months in just a few days so fairly similar), and he restarted sleeping better, and poop “normally” again, so we went back to breastmilk only. He does reach for our food though which was one of the main sign that made me think he was interested and willing to try food, although I was set one waiting for his first birthday. So idk anymore! I’ll just see how it goes and go with it. I hope someone can help you from experience cause I’m curious to know as the same happened to us (it didn’t happen with my first)
