Mom guilt šŸ˜“ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹- going on vacation šŸļø ā˜€ļø

Having terrible guilt for leavingā€™s my toddler behind and going on an adult vacation with my in-laws! Although all his favourite cousins will be staying over and thereā€™s ā€˜no limitā€™ to how much fun he would be having without ā€œmummy rulesā€ especially during the day - I think Iā€™m mostly dreading the nights heā€™ll be without me, and frequent wakes for reassurance and affectionšŸ˜„ Also breaks my heart to know I canā€™t really FaceTime him, because then heā€™ll be upset. And that itself will be enough for my holiday vibe to come to an end. But then how can I not?šŸ˜“ knowing everyone else will be talking to their kids because their older and understand being away from their parentsā€¦ Trying to convince myself this is only just temporarily and Iā€™ll definitely be taking him on a holiday to make up for it! The bond me and my boy hold is something elseā¤ļø and we both feel connections when weā€™re apart which sometimes can majorly affect our daily routine. Is this normal for anyone else child to feel this way? I just cannot put my mind at ease without overthinking too much.

How long are you going for? I get my guilt when my 2 year old stays at my parents for one night. Couldnā€™t see myself taking a vacation - unfortunately they donā€™t exist as a parent lmao

Donā€™t feel guilty, it will be hard yes but you deserve it! My husband and I just went on vacay and Iā€™m so glad we did cause we just found out weā€™re expecting #2 so it will definitely be a while before we can do that again!

I can totally understand, my son is 3.5 and I havenā€™t had one night away from him yet, for this very reason. I just know I wonā€™t be able to relax and enjoy. We just take trips together. But thatā€™s me. A lot of people take vacations without their kids. Either fully enjoy your vacation or just skip it this time. If you wont be able to shake it off and still carry that guilt, there wonā€™t be a point in that vacation.
