If you can do park hopper, I recommend it! Are you going just for one day? Disneyland has more rides for kids than DCA so I would choose Disneyland if only doing one park. No lightning lane unless you’re park hopping. But my husband and I no longer get it since we just do single rider on rides our little can’t ride
Definitely Disneyland for your little one!!!
I’ve gone to Disneyland 4 times since he was born and baby turns 1 next week. We definitely found this time of year is much easier to ride without lightning lane. There’s so much less people. Mickeys runaway railway breaks down pretty often so there’s that. Jungle cruise is always fun and the lines move fast (stay left). Peter Pan is one of the first rides we go to because we love it the most in fantasyland and that will be one of the longer lines you’ll wait in there. Winnie the Pooh is another good one because it’s towards the back near Tiana’s so not many people venture that way
Disney land for sure more the little one to go On
If you are going for just one day, I’d pick Disneyland first. I’ve been going at least 2 times a month since my baby was 6 months old (he’s 18 months now). There’s more rides babies can go on plus Toon Town. I always get lightning lane every time because I only have to buy it for myself since he’s under 3. Plus, you get the picture downloads for the day so I make sure to take pictures with the photographers throughout the park. I always bring a stroller of course. I also wear a cross-body bag to keep the most important things (keys, phone, wallet) on the off-chance my stroller is stolen. I also put one of those air-tags in my stroller hidden. Packing snacks is crucial for us. When it’s warm, I also freeze water bottles to bring since I can’t count on getting ice. I also bring a cup with a lid because sometimes they don’t give you lids for drinks. I also bring my own straws. I pack ziplock bags and plastic bags just in case I have leftover food. I also use the tush baby.
Disney land, I don’t recommend the fast pass only because when we went last, you can only go on certain rides during their time slots. It’s not like before. So we wasted money on ours. 😑
Do Disneyland for rides but if you can do the hopper I would do that because California adventure has the redwood tree area where can can climb, run and let energy out. Both parks have a baby center where you can change him. I would go to baby center because they have soft changing tables instead of the bathrooms. We have stayed over some nights when we wanted to spend more time. But leaving just depends how far you are. Disneyland is always busy first thing at the gate entrance but it is nice to get their and get some rides done before the lines are to much.
@Lauryn we are planning on going end of March beginning April is this still the case for no need of the LL
@Jessica it’s definitely something you’ll need to figure out when you get to the park. April is when a lot of students go on spring break or are visiting for school. I’d look into disneys calendar of events (if it exists) to see when they have these events.
Definitely Disneyland California Adventure has more mature rides for older kids
It depends. Are you going FOR your year old, or for yourselves? If you're going for yourselves then cali. Adventure especially if you're going with a group because you guys could rotate who stays behind with baby. But I think there's like maybe 5 rides you can ride with a kid under 48inches. At disney, there are at least 10 rides they can ride under 48inches. Plus, lots toon town has an area for playing and just i think it's better for kids that young. We've gone in April, several times and never needed a fast pass. We get there by 8a for breakfast, quick diaper change, and then start rides by like 9/9:30a. We leave the park by like 5 or 6 because our little one is tired and we usually drive down to sd which is a 2 hr drive. If we leave later than baby won't sleep until hella late in the night. When we get a hotel in Anaheim we leave the park around 7:30p as that's usually the time we start getting little one ready for bed.
Disneyland. I was just there last week and there’s barely anything to do at California adventure you could do a half day at California adventure but if you’re picking one or the other go at Disneyland, that’s where fantasy land and everything is.
Disney land. DCA is for older kids
I think Disneyland might be a bit better suited because they’ll have more rides and activities for your little to participate in. California Adventure does have cars land but it also has more of the bigger rides and coasters compared to Disneyland
