Biting melty sticks

Is anyone else’s LO biting the melty sticks/ wafers rusks etc, my LB just wants to bite them all and he’s not giving it enough time to melt in his mouth before swallowing which is leading to him gagging and bringing it back up, which is a good sign but he then goes straight back to biting them, anyone else’s LO doing this and any advise ?should I just leave him to bite it (supervised obviously) or do I stop giving him them or… ?!

My little one does exactly the same, she just hasn’t grasped how to chew and she will just bite the wafer or melt stick and instantly swallow it and then I start panicking. I’ve stopped offering them as it’s getting me so paranoid

If they're gagging but happy let them be. It's good as they're learning limits on what to bite etc. Mine did it with crumpets and kept trying to eat whilst gagging up the bit she had stuffed in her mouth!!!

So good to know I’m not the only one experiencing this ! Yeah he’s trying to put more in his mouth as he’s gagging so I was just taking it out his hand and letting him deal with the bit in his mouth, it’s only the melty wafer things that seem to be frustrating him, the melty sticks are actually melting as he’s bringing them back up so I think I’ll just stick to them for now ,Thank yous !
