Emetophobia

Hi everyone. I am currently around 4 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I’ve heard nothing but horror stories about people’s 1st trimester with morning sickness or HG. I am severely emetophobic(scared of sick) and I was wondering if there is anything I could do to prevent feeling or being sick.

The GP can prescribe anti sickness medication for you x

Highly recommend xonvea from the GP I’ve also got a massive phobia of being sick and it stopped it all. They can make you sleepy but I managed on one tablet a night x

if you have sickness, rich tea biscuits/ ginger biscuits and flat coke help usual sickness but doctors can prescribe x

I’ve never been sick whilst pregnant. Occasionally felt a little queasy so munched on a ginger biscuit or drank ginger ale.

I had cyclizine with my first which helped stop me from being sick but didn't get rid of the feeling sick part, used prochloperazine second time and it was great

Biscuits and crackers, eating and drinking in small amounts. Hopefully you are totally fine and have no nausea

Hi I have HG and to help I drink sips of ice cold water or juice, and you can be prescribed anti emetics to help, also snacking little and often, I’ve managed to manage it for a couple days now that I’m getting the hang of it and have only thrown up a handful of times (way better than before which was 6X a day x

My midwife said drink plenty of water. Also, get medication from the GP for anti nausea

Hey! Congratulations first of all! I got myself the sickness bands on Amazon and they are amazing! And really do help. What also helped me was ginger nut biscuits every couple of hours xx

@Paige Thank you! Unfortunately I have developed severe nausea this past week. Ginger biscuits have been a life saver and so have the wrist bands! Still trying to find ways to cope x

That’s okay lovely @Court I have nausea in the evenings too! Yeah hopefully you will soon x

@Paige Mine is unfortunately all day long. If I’m hungry then it gets worse. But also if I eat it gets worse too🤦🏼‍♀️😂

Also try full sugar coke but drink it slowly, for some reason that helped me a lot before I went onto medication
