Switching childcare providers

My childminder only works term time which when he first started going wasn’t an issue as my MIL said she could have him a couple of days a week while I was at work. Cue this week. She let me down on Sunday to have him so I had to scramvle around last minute and get my mom to have him for two days and my friend to have him the other day. I need either a childminder or a nursery that does do school holidays as I apparently can’t rely on my MIL now for help. My parents are both in their 70s, my dads disabled and they live on the other side of the next city over to us which means I have to drive to them to drop him off, come back on myself to go to work and then go back for him putting an extra 2 hours travel on my commute. My mom said she doesn’t mind having him now and again but I saw her this morning and she doesn’t look like she’s recovered from two days of running round after a toddler yet. I’ve found a nursery that can take him the three days I need but I’m worried about pulling him from somewhere he’s settled. He’s really sociable and hopefully he’ll settle in to a new setting easy enough but I’m still worried. Should I just leave him where he is and find something else for holidays as well or just move him somewhere he can go year round?

Honestly, make the move to nursery. Kids adapt, so I wouldn't worry.

He'll meet new friends and if it meets your needs less stressful for you. You can have a shorter commute and more time with him! Win win
