Like previously said, depends on the age. We took our daughter to the beach her first time when she was 7/8 months old. We brought a half tent/canopy thing. Idk what it’s called lol. We made the back half (which was covered) her play area and also where we put her to take a nap. We had a long sleeve bathing suit on her and put sunscreen everywhere else multiple times that day. We brought her a hat to wear that could also get wet. We brought her sunglasses but she worried too much about eating them rather than wearing them lol. We brought a travel chair for her to eat her snacks or just to sit while we cleaned up. We brought some toys for her and swim diapers. And change of clothes onto the actual beach.
Depending on the age, a small kiddie pool definitely. The ocean can be overwhelming for a tiny person 😅 Umbrella, if you have a swinging lawn chair, perfect if they are still super small. I had a friend bring one to the beach and they used it as a little glider for the baby. The baby napped for like an hour and a half.
