We try do 3 main meals and then two snacks but sometimes she’s not hungry so we don’t offer as much. Snacks we tend to offer is homemade smoothie, fruit flavoured rice cakes, Greek/ plain yogurt on it own or with berries mixed in, homemade banana / veggie muffins, piece of fruit. I think at this age, unless its sweets, they’re probably asking because they’re hungry but I do think the same sometimes 😅 The only time she has proper / more unhealthy snacks is if I’m having something, then I’ll give her a bit 😅
We do breakfast, lunch, after nap snack then dinner. Snack is a random combo of whatever we have in, usually a mixture of a few of these: berries, apple, tangerine, breadsticks, melty sticks, babybell, carrot sticks, cucumber, celery sticks, rice cakes
We do: Breakfast Mid morning snack (either fruit, a cereal bar or croissant or something) Lunch Nap Snack plate (has 3 compartments so a mix of stuff like: yoghurt, fruit, fruit smoothie pouch, cucumber/pepper slices, slices of ham/chicken, fridge raiders, babybel/cheddar bites, rice cakes, wafers, crisps, biscuits, Dinner Top up snack if she hasn’t had all of her dinner (like cucumber/pepper slices or avocado) Pudding on some occasions (yogurt/rice pudding/fruit smoothie pouch) Milk and teeth brush before bed (controversial to some but she still associates milk with bedtime)
My daughter always has 3 meals and 2 snacks. For breakfast she always has weetabix and raspberries as it’s her fave 😅, for her morning snack she has a couple handfuls of cherrios and a little yeos no added sugar yogurt. Lunch today, she had homemade egg mayo sandwich with tomatoes, quavers and banana. Her afternoon snack was breadsticks, hummus, watermelon and a jammy monster. For her dinner, she had tuna pasta (onion, garlic, chopped toms, broccoli, sweet corn, cheese, tuna), with garlic bread and strawberries/ blueberries 😍 She’s only petite but she eats well and is always on the go 💨 a very busy, happy and healthy little girl x
We do things a bit differently. We don't do set lunches, we have breakfast which will be eggs on toast, porridge, or yoghurt and muesli. Alongside this because she can't wait for eggs or porridge to cook (and we have a lot of pets we need to feed etc first) she'll often have a bowl of cereal. Then I'll make her up a snack box with protein (chicken slices, fridge raiders, crabsticks which she bizarrely loves!), dairy (cheese though she rarely eats it I still offer it, yoghurt), carbs (bread sticks, crackers), fruit, a treat like a kinder bar or biscuit. She grazes on that for most of the day, tends to stop a couple of hours before dinner, then she has her veggies with dinner and then a bedtime snack - crackers or bread sticks and the occasional "healthy" cereal bar/muffin.
