Frustrated mama here 😩

Anyone else’s 1year old has reduced appetite for the food they usually likes? My little one used to eat really well ,she loved vegetables and fruits. Lately she’s only been having half weetabix (mixed with berries and bananas) and a few slices of melon for breakfast . She won’t touch her toast. And for lunch and dinner it’s all depending on her mood too. Am I doing something wrong? Maybe my cooking is not creative enough? She only have two small bottles one in the morning and another one in the evening. I’m so stressed out as I feel she only likes sweet fruits and don’t have enough carbohydrates and protein intake, I can only have her so much cheese and yogurt :(

It’s a phase, it will pass. If anything you can always check with your pediatrician but in the meantime just continue to offer food and try to cook things you know she will eat at the moment. My daughter went through this when she was teething (molars) and also randomly during what seemed like weeks. She went back to normal on her own eventually

I have a 3 year old and also worked in children's health alongside a dietitian. Yes this will happen a few times. My little just went through a phase just wanting fruit, it can last for a few days to weeks but then her appetite just comes back again. It's super annoying and I often get worried and then the health visitor always says they will eat if they are hungry and if their weight isn't dropping not to panic. I also breastfed on demand so it was hard to tell how much milk she took which would also effect how much she ate.

You can try making super colourful plates lol. But with my daughter she wouldn't care 😭. If really concerned see what your health visitor says.

@✨Wis šŸ‡šŸ‡¹ my daughter’s four molars are cutting through, maybe that’s why, I keep trying to find a reason for this šŸ™ˆ thanks!

@Sabrina that’s exactly what my HV said… it’s soooo frustrating isn’t it, fingers crossed it’s just a phase x

@Nannan that’s honestly probably it. But most of the time it’s a phase and it doesn’t last

Yes mine is the same. She is rejecting pretty much everything that I could previously guarantee she'd eat so now I don't know what to give her 😩 hoping it's because she's teething her molars and that she will go back to eating everything in sight soon.

From 13 - 15 months we had a big period of rejection as she wanted to show her independence and was testing the word no and how we would respond. She basically just ate pasta in a plain sauce, noodles in a plain sauce and cheese pizza. I was at the point of feeling so shitty as a mum because I thought it was my fault she was not eating and felt so negative about it. She has now come out of the other side and is eating more variety now so thankfully the bad phase has passed. We still get a lot of ā€˜no!’ But she now sometimes try’s things after which I’m happy with

@Poppy my daughter doesn’t say no yet. But she does throw things to the floor so maybe she was testing the gravity šŸ˜… I really do hope it’s a phase and hopefully it will pass soon. It’s just haven’t a very big baby and I tend to worry about her weight x

My daughter is diddy too. I also got her weighed at any opportunity lol when going to the doctors. And they just checked she was and is growing on her line from birth and she is. That can also help ease your mind. She's 3 and half and still in 2-3 years clothing. :)

My son refuses to eat, only wants milk. He also recently decided he isn’t even interested in milk…. I feel you. I’ve been keep trying but I give him water and electrolytes to keep him hydrated and pedisure. ( he is teething , so could be a factor)

Yes šŸ™ˆ My boy was great with baby led weaning from the start and generally loves food. More recently has become fussier with less of an appetite. Assumed this was due to numerous colds, virus’ and the one year jabs, plus general fussiness with him getting a bit older. He’ll eat large quantities of his favourite foods - cheese, crumpet, broccoli, meat and pasta šŸ˜… It’s disheartening especially when he shakes his head to say no or throws it off the side. Hopefully it’s a phase as others have suggested šŸ¤žšŸ»
