Weaning

For the mums out there who have started weaning what are you finding easier for you little ones buying puree foods or making your own and what sort of foods have you started to introduce?

I haven't yet with this baby but I think making your own is much cheaper. With my first I just bought a frozen bag of mixed veg, boiled it, separated the 4 different veg, pureed them, then froze as ice cubes and it lasted like a month as they don't eat much at the start. I also batch cooked some baby meals ones when we got onto the more complex meals as she got older. Good idea to start with veg purees so they don't end up just preferring sweet food... Though even with doing that my 3 year old's favourite food is pizza or chicken and chips 🤷🏽‍♀️ She won't eat half the vegetables she was happy to eat the purees of 😂

Won't be starting for a couple of months but I won't he gettiny anything special. Did baby led weaning with my first and will do same this time. They just eat the same as us making sure things are cut / seasoned appropriately for their age x

I have started weaning and chose to make my own, all meals are blended smooth. Ingredients I have tried so far: Broccoli, butternut squash, sweet potato, spinach, Green peas, pears, apples, bananas.

I do a mix. I make a batch of them and keep in the freezer but have pouches for days I forget to take one out or want to try something different. Were mainly doing veg and sweet potato at the moment lo is not too keep on fruit atm. Also if lo has reflux be careful with apple cause that often makes it worse even with gaviscon
