Maternity Leave
Just filling out my maternity form for work. I know we only get maternity pay for 9 months and the last 3 are unpaid, I’ve been asked to put in weeks how long I plan on taking off.
Me and maths don’t work together😂 I checked Google but just to confirm, 9 months is 39 weeks yeah?🙈

Today is 5th March and in 39 weeks it will be 3rd December. So you're right in thinking 39 weeks is 9 months. So either put down 39 weeks or 52 weeks for 9 or 12 months. Maths is squiffy cos of the months having different amount of days each but use a calender if you want a better idea of how your dates will work out
@Kat Thank you, that’s why I was getting confused! I put down 39 weeks and then I’m just going to add the rest of my holiday onto the end of it! Xx

You’re entitled to 39 weeks of stat pay = 39/4= 9.75 months. 9 months is 36 weeks. If you want to take the 12 months off but 3 unpaid then you’ll be entitled to 52 weeks total leave but only 39 weeks paid.
