I just discovered that dulas are covered in by Medicaid. Has anyone ever had one? How does it work !?

You can ask your insurance if they have a list or search for a doula online that takes Medicaid

If you look up “city wide doula initiative” you’ll be able to find free doula services based on what zip code you live in

@✨Wis 🇭🇹 definitely going to call my insurance

Add me on ig I can’t find you ig: CelinetheAquarius

Yes it's wonderful efforts I don't think they take Medicaid because My Doula didn't take my Medicaid now that I want her for the rest of the remainder of you know while baby is growing and she brings things that I need or has connections to things that I need I'm gonna keep her and use my Medicaid

Yea some are free some are not I have the link for free doulas in nyc

I had a doula best thing I did. She was very informative you won’t regret it !

This is my doula she's very experienced and excellent with everything that came behind her while being My Doula she'll hook you up with anyone you want or you could take her to

Yes, I had a doula and I would definitely hire one again. My doula helped give me info and reminded me to do certain things before I gave birth. She also helped me come up with my birth plan and suggested a prenatal chiropractor and acupuncturist and a new obgyn because I need help turning my daughter around and with some other things. Plus I was unhappy with my first obgyn. She also gave me the tea on where to give birth. On the day of she helped me with the whole process and gave my some advice on how to handle certain things. She also helped me move around (while I had an epidural) to move the labor along. She took pictures when I pushed my daughter out of my daughter and me and my husband’s first time holding her. Honestly, we weren’t even aware of her taking pictures and were pleasantly surprised when she sent us the pics because we were so busy in the moment. She also helped me advocate for myself at the hospital during certain times. She fed my husband and I fruit

After labor before we got moved to the postpartum room. She was in touch with me during the postpartum period, and I was able to ask her questions. She also helped me latch my daughter on at the hospital after birth and a couple weeks later she came to my house, observed me nursing, gave me tips and did a weighted feeding. I think it was very beneficial especially as a first time mom. My only regret was not hiring her sooner. I waited until my third trimester. I still see some of the medical professionals she put me in touch witty like the chiropractor.
