Weaning

Is anyone else having a really difficult time with weaning? I feel like no matter what I give him, he doesn’t like it. I try making everything fresh but so far he’s liked no veggies and the only thing he has taken to is some egg courgette fritters and some organic homemade natural yogurt. But he can’t have those all the time! He’s 7 months now and I was hoping to be giving him a proper meal at least but we’ve made no progress Any times would be appreciated.

I was having real problems my daughter started to hate everything and then one day I didn’t have one of her silicon spoons available so use an old plastic spoon I had in the cupboard and she loved it and ate everything. Turned out it was the food but the spoons were too thick for her went and got a new pack of thinner plastic spoons and she is eating everything in sight and now grabbing for any food I’m trying to eat.

We also had a really tricky start to weaning (would only tolerate Greek yoghurt) and it’s only in the last week it’s suddenly clicked and she enjoys all food now. She’s a few days away from being 8 months so just keep offering and hopefully it’ll change really quickly!

@Liza ah glad she loved food now! Tbf our spoons are the quite thick silicone ones so I may just try and switch up the spoons to see if it makes any difference. The thing is he does eat the yoghurt from it but nothing else 😂

@Natasza yes I think I just need to keep trying. When he sees us eating he will literally leap towards the table and try and grab the food but think that may just be a coincidences I have tried finger foods too which he seems to enjoy more but then tastes it and then doesn’t have any more and it all just gets lost in his bib 😂

Mine is quite fussy - loves yogurt, mashed fruit and soup but isn't a fan of anything with a 'drier' or courser texture, such as rice or finely chopped meat and veg. If I try and let him feed himself with finger food, he just throws it on the floor. He's only just turned 7 months so I'm hoping he starts to enjoy more foods and textures as he gets older
