Concerning BP

What's considered a concerning blood pressure while pregnant? I can't just go to L&D unless I know for sure I need to due to solo parenting and no family in the arean

I can’t give you an extra range off the top of my head, but I’m a CNA currently pregnant and hospitalized so I can tell you what yours look like vs mine when they get concerned if you know what yours is. Or I can ask the next time my CNA comes to get my vitals

Postpartum nurse here, above 140/90 they would want to monitor and rule out pre e and have you checking at home etc, above 160/110 would be concerning you’d most likely be admitted and watched closely

I had pre e with both pregnancies, my doctor said only one number needs to be concerning so even if it’s 140/70 or 130/100. If either number crosses over tell your doctor and go to er if higher or headache/ seeing spots

@jhanee thank-you 140/90 is what I saw on Google for the most part. I'm just under but my head has been hurting all day and just woke up with it pounding. BP is 131/85

@olivia if your headache doesn’t go away with Tylenol or rest, I would get checked out even if your numbers aren’t exactly above 140/90. Headache alone can be a sign of pre e.

@Olivia pre e can progress pretty quickly so it’s always best to get checked and rule it out if you’re experiencing symptoms like a headache that doesn’t go away, blurry vision, sudden swelling etc.
