My little girl is always worse at dinner time. I think she’s just not as hungry in the evening, plus if she’s tired she’s more cranky and doesn’t want to be in the high chair. I try and wait at least half an hour after dinner, then give her a snack. Sometimes she won’t even touch her dinner.

I find mine will typically eat one or two good meals a day. So one day she'll eat a great breakfast, but very little lunch or dinner. Most days she'll eat a small breakfast, barely touch lunch unless it's one of her favourites, and then devour her dinner. Lunch is our most often just skipped meal. I just trust the process that she's eaten enough over the day.

How long is that she has been waiting for something to eat before dinner? My son’s last meal before dinner is lunch which is around 11 and 12. Then dinner is at 5-5:30. Around 2-3 he will have a real small snack to keep him going until dinner and it’s as simple as giving the snack too late or making the snack a little too big that will make him start picking at dinner. He also won’t eat if he dislikes the dish or is poorly.

@Shay she has lunch at 12ish then has a sleep till about 2 maybe 3 ish depending on when she finishes lunch . Has dinner about 4.30 maybe 5 /5.30 depending on what time her dad finishes work xx

Yep! My 20 month old eats so much during the day so dinner time is never great!

@Lucy she has nothing between 12 and 4:30?

@Shay she eats lunch about 12ish , usually finahes eating by 1 ish or later depending on what time I give it to her

As after lunch she has a nap , if she doesn't have a long nap then I do give her a snack xx

But ultimately regardless if you give her a snack or not, she still isn’t hungry for dinner?
