Yup ! Has been super fussy since Xmas 2024 ! Loves cereals, yoghurt and snacks but cannot remember last meal we eat together, he point blank refuses. We only offer toast or yoghurt when refuses or not eat much for tea. He did very well at BLW though. Has very few safe foods will eat but it happy and still growing. Just feel very frustrating but spoken to gp and hv and all very common they don't have any concerns with our LO. I apparently was very fussy growing up, chicken, cheese and bacon all I'd eat. I'll try anything now. HV adv to offer 1 new thing every couple of weeks even if ignores at first, small steps
Yes, he will eat some breakfast. Usually cereal or yogurt and some fruit or some toast and after that it’s snacks and meal refusal. Funny cause the same as @Zoey I was also fussy as a child, then suddenly something changed and now I like most foods and will try pretty much anything. My toddler has a cousin who’s almost a year older and we recently all went out for a meal and both of them basically ate nothing and picked on some veg from the plate 🫠 At this age their growth has slowed down so they don’t need that many calories and they’re also trying to enforce their boundaries so it’s pretty normal.
Not eating much dinner is normal (according to the nutritionist we saw) She suggested timed eating (10mins for snack, 20-30 for meals). Make sure there are a few hours between each meal. She also suggested (because we work so late) to make the second snack a bit larger and more nutritious That way you know they are getting healthy foods (our son loves carbs) She said to only offer milk and juice at mealtimes and have water constantly available
