Weaning anxiety…

Baby will be 8 months next week and is currently having two meals a day / breakfast and dinner. Both are usually purées/chunkier ones for dinner. She has tried some Ella’s sticks and liked them but I am not brave enough to give her any pieces of food. Is anyone else struggling with the same? She has gagged few times and I got so so scared!! How do I overcome this? 😭😭😭

Maybe do a first aid course which would give you the knowledge to help if anything did happen? It might help your confidence x

Yep, I am the same too 😭 I went to a class which helped to differentiate gagging and choking and what to do in the rare (but possible) event of choking… I don’t think we will ever feel at ease though!

Try soft foods like banana? They do gag, as they aren’t used to the texture and chewing. But gagging isn’t the same as choking.

I’m anxious for bigger foods too, she did okay with pancakes, but still try’s to out too much in her mouth I’m also anxious to introduce dairy, and some other foods I live alone in the country with my baby and would hate to have an emergency
