First time mum to be through IVF

Hey guys, I’m looking for some advice to help me through the first trimester. The anxiety has hit today and I can’t seem to shake it. I’m currently 5w1d and this is the furthest I have gotten so far which I’m obviously very happy about but I’m struggling to relax before my first scan which is in two weeks. Current symptoms.. Sore boobs Acid reflux Fatigue Mild cramping (which is whats worrying me as it’s mainly on my right side). Any reassurance or advice old be greatly appreciated 🙏🏼

I feel you on the anxiety! Mine hit bad today as I’ve never made it this far before either but we’ve got this! It’s hard but we have to take each day as it comes! I think the cramping also sends us into a bit of a spiral but I’ve heard it can be normal I’ve been having mild cramping on either side really x

I’ve just had my first baby (not sure why this post has popped up as I’m not due in November🤣) but just wanted to offer some insight on the cramping. I was super worried about one sided cramping early on in my pregnancy, around 6/7 weeks. I went and rushed out for a private scan to check all was okay and the sonographer told me that the cramping on the left was due to me ovulating/releasing the egg from that side and the follicle was collapsing as a result-they said this is completely normal! I don’t think the anxiety goes away until you start feeling baby etc, it’s really difficult, sending love🤍 congratulations xx

@Bethany it’s so odd, like I know I can do it but the worrying and anxiety has really taken over today. I’m trying BG to take each day as it comes and I don’t think it’s fully sunk in yet 🤪

@Megan that’s so helpful, thank you so much ☺️

I had mild cramping on my right side early pregnancy around 5 weeks and lasted probably up until 12 weeks. I got told it’s normal and happens to some people. I’ve now got a healthy little boy🩵 hope this helps! Try not too worry too much x

@Shauna it’s hard when the anxiety takes over lovely but you’ve got this! We all do! I’m sort of the same I feel like I’m in shock that it’s a reality? But you’ve definitely got this! Today you’re pregnant and whatever tomorrow brings you’ll get through it! Sending you all the sticky baby dust x

Oh you’d feel left out without cramping. I felt like I was swinging a brick in the beginning. I actually had no other symptoms which is a blessing and a curse as you winner gore things are going for that reason. Remember each egg is unique and there is every reason to believe this pregnancy will be positive. Keep us updated. You’re doing so well xx

@Chloe thank you 🙏🏼

@Bethany thank you 🙏🏼

@Yog thank you so much x

I went through IVFand had very similar symptoms. They say cramping in the beginning is normal as the embryo is settling into the lining of the uterus. Try to distract yourself with crafts, house work, plants, hanging with friends etc. So you are not focused on the pregnancy. Stress and worry a. Won't help the pregnancy and b. It is out of your control and whatever happens.. happens.. I had a friend tell me there is no pointing I worrying or stressing over the things we can't control, all we can do is enjoy the ride. Try to focus on good, positive things!! I know it's hard.. trust me.. I get it! Goodluck mama. If you ever need to chat, please do not hesitate to reach out ♥️♥️

@Stephanie thank you xx

During my first pregnancy my cramps were the worst! Later pregnancies not so much I assume it’s because everything has to stretch more as it never done it before. Best of luck in your pregnancy ♥️
