Omg! Yes, what the hell are robucks? You want £35 for a skin on Fortnite? What’s a skin? He’s asked for clothes off us though thankfully BUT, where a year ago he would be excited by Minecraft t shirts from Asda, he’s asked for “vintage old school t shirts in light ‘clover’ green, chinos, and some Jordan high top limited edition trainers that are £300 and don’t exist anywhere other than import from the US!? Wtf!! He’s also then just told us that he’s invited 7 school friends to our house at the weekend for takeaway pizza movie/games night and sleepover?? Didn’t ask or tell us….. so am I now having to host a birthday evening for my 12 year old step son, his 7 12 year old friends, my 8 year old ss and 4 year old??? Becoming a stepmom was a huge adjustment but one I embraced and love, but when I met the boys they were 3 and 7, cutesy and we had our son so it never seemed too kind of crazy or too extreme but now suddenly the oldest is an adult, swearing, has girlfriends -
Wants £300 trainers despite the fact he never goes out outside of school just sits at his gaming desk, like what, are these trainers for show? I guarantee they won’t ever see pavement? I’m sorry for ranting, but I’m 27 and suddenly feel completely out of my depth and a bit alone as a step parent! Partner is amazing, elite dad, can’t fault him for anything, but he doesn’t get it. I love them like they’re my own, but being a step parent is hard anyway, and now I’ve hit this brand new wall and phase of it, I’m bewildered, what do I do, how to I manage him, how do I be a parent but not overstep!? Can you tell I’m mid meltdown down, all over a bloody pair of trainers
Rant away. Some of these kids nowadays are batshit ceazy lol. I'm in the same boat, but with both my 11 yr old and 9 yr old step son. But dad is not the best most involved dad, unfortunately 😕 so he does try to appease them with materialistic things.

Crazy ** It's really hard being a step parent. You'd think after so many years and them getting older it'd get easier. Heeeeeeell nah. I miss the 5-8 yr old days 😫

Twinsies. My stepson, who lives full time with his mom, is addicted to screens and his phone.. he asks for $50 game cards or apple cards. We don't buy him any of that😂😂. We stick to clothes, random accessories, or cologne. A mini goodie bag with his favorite snacks
