Anyone else trying to concieve while working towards a healthier weight?

I don't know why but I just realized that even the small deficit may make getting pregnant harder.

Depends on what your current BMI is in regards to if it's worth it. If you're already thin, it's a bad idea. If you're "obese" it's definitely worth it, especially if you have fertility issues. Being over weight is associated with autism genetic disorders and more chromosome deficiencies and things like ADHD. Using Tylenol is associated with asthma. Knowing that is a good motivation to stay on track.

Yess me. Honestly I lost 15 pounds in 2 months so I started already lol. My goal was to lose an extra 15 by May but idk if I’ll happen. I’m crossing my fingers I’ve conceived this month

It's nice to know that I'm not alone. I only just recently got under an obese bmi. So I have a ways to go before I'll be in the healthy range. I eat very clean and high in protein due to intolerances. Good luck everyone!

Just to chime in, I would just do what is right for you and strive for overall health. When I got pregnant I was close to 200lbs and I got a prenatal fitness trainer and she’s helped me gain so much muscle from pregnancy modified lifting that I’ve lost a considerable amount of weight while pregnant. I think I’ve lost about 40lbs and gained back about 20lbs now of actual baby and other related material. The baby is tracking great and my labs look great so no issues. I also haven’t been dieting or counting calories at all, so no one is worried about anything. I think my weight loss helped me avoid GD and working out so much has really helped with blood flow so I’ve felt a lot better during pregnancy. Highly recommend incremental weight training, 10-15k steps a day, high protein, hydration, and weighing once a week with a smart scale if you’re trying to cut. Increasing your muscle % is SO much more helpful than counting calories, so I would focus on that. Good luck!!
