After school club or childminder?

Starting to think about them starting school, are there any pros/cons to using a childminder vs after school club? Love to hear your thoughts!

As a childminder, I’d say that the big difference is that I’m a home setting so if the kids are tired and they want to sit and watch a film or lay on the sofa with a blanket then they absolutely can! But I share some with afterschool club and they say there’s always activities and it’s very loud and busy! Obviously with them going into reception they are going to be tired at the end of the day! I have 3 reception children and some days they want to play and other days they do just want to sit down and look at books and have a rest x

Not a lot of childminders In my area will accept school children, so there's a massive shortage of wrap around care, so for that we have chosen schools that offer the care, it's holidays we are going to struggle with as we have no family around. Childminder you'd have to consider their holidays and any illnesses that arise

After school club depends on space as they can't offer it to all children it would be first come first serve situation
