I have a snack pot that almost looks like a rubber mug that I fill with the snacks before I go get my daughter from school. So I put fruit, biscuits etc all unwrapped in it and then she just walks along holding it and eating out of it along the way. I’ve added the link to a similar one. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C998RW4B/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0C998RW4B&ref_=sbx_be_s_sparkle_ssd_tt&qid=1741769851&pd_rd_w=VJrv7&content-id=amzn1.sym.632045c6-bd11-46a2-8a95-3c8490cff666%3Aamzn1.sym.632045c6-bd11-46a2-8a95-3c8490cff666&pf_rd_p=632045c6-bd11-46a2-8a95-3c8490cff666&pf_rd_r=GSGF0NY7VYKX1VH4J9FB&pd_rd_wg=bImZa&pd_rd_r=95d4a663-9c47-465b-83fb-2a005dfb93a4&pd_rd_plhdr=t
@Kelly it’s a half hour, with hills 😭I should try wraps! I’ve done sandwiches a few times but getting the prep in is always tricky, Yep I agree about Yoyos, tbh it used to win me some time but now they both wolf them down in 2 seconds anyway 😂
@Lauren oh thanks, these look good I’ll check them out!
personally i’d just give them one snack but have tea prepared so they could have it almost as soon as they walk through the door when they get home xx
I take a hot cross bun with butter (wrapped in foil) and banana for our walk back
Brioche with peanut butter? And an apple or banana, or babybel/little mini cheese? My son's school does brioche loaves and they set out extras some days and all the kids go wild to grab one for the walk home. We try to do a carb/grain, fruit/veg, and a protein/fat, as that combo helps hit the 5 a day and the protein or fat with the carb helps them feel full longer
How long a walk is it? We only have 10 mins and I take a snack (usually a mini maltloaf) but my daughter (nearly 5) unwraps this herself and hands me the empty wrapper. Sometimes she tells me she's still hungry and I just tell her we'll be home in 10 mins and she can have something then. We're now over halfway through her first school year and she's got used to it and barely asks. You could try making ham and cheese wraps cut in half so it's not too long for them to hold and a bit more filling than the other snacks. My two are very fond of yoyos but they are not healthy, the way they are processed it's all the sugars left behind so it feels healthier than giving sweets but isn't really
