@Ell What kind of foods have you offered her? I think I’m gonna just give it a go and build the confidence from there! Xx
Why don’t you start with things like mashed potato, avocado, swede and carrot mash etc so it’s slowly introducing it or softer squishy solids like raspberries? Might make you feel more comfortable xx
I wasn’t anxious re. Feeding but re. Teeth my daughter didn’t get any teeth until she was nearly 2.5!!! She ate perfectly fine with her gums! The only things she struggled with was biting into things like apples and whole nuts. She would chow down on steak, chicken all sorts!
Definitely don't need teeth for solids lol. I started off with cooked veg, omelette, banana pancakes etc. The sooner you introduce finger foods the better, as a babys gag reflex is most sensitive at this age (which is important to avoid choking).
The solids starts app helped some friends reduce their anxiety. And knowing the difference between choking and gagging. You can both do this!
I was honestly so anxious too and just stuck to feeding purées and only letting her eat when I’m feeding. I tried over the last few days hold bigger things and watched her like a hawk 😂😳 she’s loving it and I’m feeling a lot more comfortable now. Sorry if that’s not helpful but just some advice to go for it! Xx
