Just switching things up.

I know the 90-90-90 rule for sitting baby down for eating. But I’m working with an older high chair that doesn’t adjust as much as those new ones. As a result, it’s not my baby’s favorite place to eat. Sometimes he snacks on the go and I spend time cleaning my floors. Today inspiration struck. Cause he just wanted to stand today. I won’t make it a habit. But I found this a fun alternative. I actually finished my breakfast too (which almost never happens). I also held back his favorite berries until he ate some of the other stuff. I gave it to him as I saw him get antsy. Having the food in two stages helped extend the meal time. Please don’t tell me to buy a new high chair. Sometimes we work with what we got. Right?

Also there was a mom way back, who was looking for advice on their kiddo who only wants to crawl and eat. I tried looking for the post to tell her, but I was out of luck. If you see this, I hope you found something that worked for you or made clean up easier.

What does 90-90-90 mean?

@Sarah thanks! I knew this for ergonomics at work, but didn't know babies should eat like that too!

Eh, my toddler is a little older, and while I always used to sit her in the high chair for meals, lately I have been a little more lenient and let her snack with some foods while standing on her toddler tower, much like this. I think it's fine honestly, it keeps her happy, I can finish what I'm doing in the kitchen, and she gets to stand and eat, which she seems to prefer, but I also don't have to worry about her running around with food, which I am constantly fighting her on. If it works, kudos! Go with it.

My 10 month old doesn't always like sitting for food. Today I gave her a plate on the floor so she could pick at what she wanted and move how she wanted. Some days we gotta follow their queues

My friend's toddler will eat his snacks standing in his toddler tower. You do what works.

My son wouldn’t sit in his high chair but ate dinner from a plate on the floor on all fours and told me he was a dog! 💁🏻‍♀️ he had a good meal…
