Intense tantrums!

Anyone else finding their LO has intense tantrums? For example this evening he wanted to be carried out of the car to the house so I did, we then get to the front door and he’s screaming and having a huge tantrum that he didn’t walk from the car. So we had to go back to the car and walk to the house! But this didn’t stop the tantrum it still continued. Screaming, crying and throwing himself around. I try speaking calmly, offering a distraction, making him laugh, get him to take some deep breaths but nothing works. This sounds awful but I ended up just leaving him in the hallway (no dangers around) having his tantrum whilst I sorted our bags etc out. Then he eventually came out of it. Typical we’ve got new neighbours I dread to think what they think is going on! Please tell me we’re not alone in these intense meltdowns and they grow out of it!

I feel your pain. My daughter has some intense tantrums and nothing seems to help. I sometimes have to give her space knowing that in 5 to 10 minutes she'll be in a place where she'll accept a hug and help to calm down. Last week, we spent 20 minutes sat on the floor of the changing room, whilst my older daughter had her swimming lesson and my two year old screamed and cried. No logical reason for the melt down either. Hoping she grows out of it soon.

Yes major tantrums occasionally yesterdays was the worse on our way to pre school cause it started we needed to go downstairs in the lift not the stairs as I had buggy for sibling instead of baby carrier. Then my son likes to go out the side door but front door is easier with buggy… another tantrum! His tantrums took up a lot of time so we could no longer walk… another tantrum and I had to attempt at getting him in the car kicking and screaming it was awful in the end I just shut the car door and turned around till he calmed down then I was able to strap him in. He had another tantrum when we got to pre school cause he wanted to wear his coat for the 20 second walk into pre- school 😖 he had a great day at pre school though went in smiling and waving 😅 me full of stress and mum guilt that his morning had been so awful and I couldn’t do much to help him just gotta ride the waves! 😣
