Feeding Advice?

Can my 10month old eat this? He loves it and eats it all! I’ve tried ready break - he didn’t mind it but didn’t love it like he does the one in the photo I’ve tried weetabix but he won’t eat that unless I mix some of a fruit pouch in with it. I’m just concerned if I put a fruit pouch in it and give him actual fruit to eat at lunchtime or dinner time that it’ll be too much fruit? Or any advice on what else to try for breakfast?

Just to mix it up so it's not Porridge every day have you tried scrambled eggs or pancakes maybe? My little boy loves Porridge but I try to change it just so he's having different every other day 😊

You could just give him some weetabix with shredded apple or pear etc for breakfast, or you could give him regular porridge (doesn’t need to be what you’ve posted), and shred fruit into it. Then skip the fruit at lunch time. You can also use frozen fruit in porridge, as it’ll go soft when you warm it up.

Yes x

Yes my son loves it too … and I don’t think there’s such thing as too much fruit I may be wrong though xx

@Justina fruit is full of sugar you can definitely have too much 😂

@Emma I see I didn’t think natural sugars can harm

@Justina I don't think they do, natural sugars are good and don't have the same affect as 'sugar'...it's only when fruits are blended into smoothies etc the sugars become 'bad'

My little on is 10 months and has porridge pretty much every day. Realistically how often do we have different breakfast every day? That’s what I just think

There’s no reason why he can’t, it’s just a marketing gimmick to make money instead of buying normal porridge. I still buy baby porridge as it’s usually fortified with added vitamins etc. it’s just easier. I add frozen blueberries or raspberries and a blob of peanut butter some days. I don’t think they can have “too much fruit” as long as they’re getting just as many carbs, fats, proteins and vegetables throughout the day and not just served fruit x

My girl loves these porridges, and the cow and gate pouches of porridge we give her them most days and mix up the flavours as it's what she will eat. She will also have toast, or pancakes sometimes. She loves fruit. So always have some fresh fruit throughout the day. I would maybe try for lunch pouches with mainly veg in so not too much fruit. That's what we do and then I've freeze batched blended roast dinners for her so lots of veg for tea/evening meal. Also carrot sticks for snacks good for teething too. :)
