WAHM mums - what’s realistic?

WAHM mums - I am looking into options for when I return to work. Is it realistic to be able to take a few client sessions (service industry, hour long sessions usually) with a baby / toddler at home without any help? Do you ever get any work done while being 100% present with your baby / toddler? I want to be realistic about what I can do at home without help as I would like to be present for my little one and not constantly distracted. Would love to hear people’s experiences.

I have the same question, I wish some experienced mums would answer 😭

I work for a call center from home… depending on what exactly you do it’s hard to be 100% present with your baby while also working. I take calls all day, I have noise cancelling headphones, but the anxiety with if my kid needs me right when I’m in the middle of a call was too much. I ended up having to have a family member sit with him while I took calls and then I would take care of him on my breaks. I adore my son but doing double duty my whole work day, and then getting off to be 100% focused on my kiddo… It took a toll on my mental health cause I never really got a second to myself. He now goes to his grandparents house during the day while I work. I don’t want to discourage you from trying! I have a friend where It works for her since she rarely has to interact with people at her job. But it’s all gonna depend on what you’re doing and how you manage your schedule.

Not with no help and a toddler. You (on a good day) have the possibility of getting to work 2 hours during nap time. But we all know that a nap is not necessarily going to happen when you really need it to.

And forget it if u have no help and have your toddler in the same room as your office. Unless you plan to let the TV take over while you work but we all saw the cable guy the movie right? Or is that before everyones time?
