Oula Prenatal Services

Peace fellow mamas, currently expecting my 3rd bebè and I’m switching to Oula in Manhattan location. I’d love to know of any experiences receiving support from them and I’m happy to share how it goes next week!

1000000% recommend Oula. This is my first pregnancy and they have been so supportive of me and make me feel seen and heard, even when traditional medicine lags at certain times. They have a real holistic approach and have walked me through every step of the process. I’ve met with many of their midwives and being diagnosed with gestational diabetes they’ve brought in two separate OBGYNs to always check in on me. A lot of care and attention over there. I’m 33 weeks now and I go to the Upper West Side location. Would encourage joining an Oula circle with other newly postpartum moms when you deliver. Happy to answer any and all questions and sending positive energy your way on your journey!

I used Oula last year and had a great experience. Unfortunately that pregnancy ended in miscarriage— they were very supportive throughout the whole process. The timeline/outline they provide you is very helpful and allows you to feel very informed every step of the way. I felt way less rushed at appointments compared to most OBGYNs. With that being said, with my current pregnancy I am choosing to work with a homebirth midwife instead. This is simply because I only went with Oula because I thought my insurance would cover it, and having to birth in a hospital (Mount Sinai West—which no longer has a birth center) was a compromise for me. After signing on, I realized they are out-of-network for all insurance providers. I felt like I was paying a ton more just for more compassionate prenatal appointments (which you get with a homebirth midwife)but my actual birth wouldn’t be that different (hospital). For the same cost I won’t have to compromise with a homebirth.

@Kato that’s one of the main questions I had for them since I’ve provided my insurance information - I’m hoping to receive more clarity on this because I do plan to potentially have my baby right at home. My work as a doula and being friends with so many midwives, I’d like to birth my baby my way while potentially achieving a VBAC 🥹 I appreciate your honest insight greatly and I’m sorry for your loss🧡 I love that you were able to receive support and care with such. Sending you endless love and blessings!

@Shaquana I’m so so excited! I’m thankful for your insight! Congratulations as well mama!! I have a few questions regarding insurance really - is it alright if I message you in regards to such?
