When to introduce solids?

Are you doing this around 24 weeks or 6 months to their birthday? I know the signs of readiness but wondering what everyone is classing as ‘around 6 months’ ☺️

😂 I had this question the other day! So my little girl was 24w on Tuesday but not 6 months til the end of the month. I’ve been actively weaning her for the past 2-3 weeks so 5.5 months roughly. Now at the 24w mark she’s happily eating puréed food, I’ve tried her on finger food but I have anxiety with her choking so I’ve held off on that aspect xx

i'll be starting on the 2nd as that's when she's 6 months. she's showing signs of readiness but i really don't see the point in rushing it. i found weaning very anxiety inducing with my first so no desire to start early!

6 months to their birthday

Honestly I don't know how many weeks old he is, once he hit 3 months we stopped counting in weeks. We go 4 months, 4 and half months, 5 months etc. So will be timing it in accordance with his 6 month "birthday" to the date

@Charley haha I keep having to go into my phone calendar and count the weeks from his birthday. Glad I’m not the only one not keeping track 😅

I bloody get so confused how old he is because of counting the weeks & the months! How old is my baby if his birthday is 16th of October?!😭🤣🫣

@Ellie next Wednesday will be 22 weeks and this Sunday 5 months 😆 my boy was born the 15th ☺️

Honestly there's no need to keep track of weeks now.

My little boy has been to see a paediatrician for various reasons and he said I could wean from 4 month. I haven’t yet and he’s 5 month but when I asked the question he said there isn’t anything magic that happens at midnight when they turn 6 months it’s very much when they are ready. I haven’t yet as my little one isn’t sitting on his own yet even though he shows other signs x
