I spoke to the health visitor probably when my son was around 7 months old as I didn’t feel he was putting on much weight. He’s ebf but she told me to offer food before milk and I found that made a huge difference. I was adding a good quality butter into a lot of his food too for healthy fats, making sure I was using 20% beef, offering things like eggs etc that would help with weight gain. I haven’t had him weighed since but he eats a lot better now and I suspect he’s putting on more weight than before

@Georgina what foods you're offering him? and how do u give him butter? please any idea

Surly if the doctor was concerned they would have given you advice on what to do. But basically items that are high in fat. High fat beef mince( so a spag Bol, cottage pie, mince curry You can blend it if too difficult for baby to eat) Eggs are great, mine loves omelettes and boiled eggs. Butter can be put in items like mashed potato. Or you can put it on toast or in a sandwich. If can’t cook the baby food pouches will be quite high in fats I imagine. Go for the red meat and pasta type ones. We use them about once a week as sometimes things just get away from us. Also it’s good to see the portion size. Mine can eat the whole 10 month packet for dinner and have a pudding

@Irum we eat a lot of mince in our house so mince and tatties, bolognese, chilli, I’ll use full fat everything for him so if I do porridge for breakfast he has full fat milk and you could mix some peanut butter in that. I use butter in mash, but I used to mix it in everything for him like pasta or anything really. Just using the healthy high fat options is the best thing
