Baby not eating much anymore

My 6 month old has almost stopped eating during the day. He normally nurses every 2.5 - 3.5 hours. Yesterday it was more like 4 hours and today he only would nurse twice as well as wouldn't eat any of the purees I offered. I've been trying everything I can think of and he just gets mad most of the time when I try to feed him. Or he nurses for 30 seconds and then wants nothing to do with it. I've made sure he's not distracted, tried the bottle he used to take, tried to relieve gas he might have, teething remedies, etc. He does nurse better at night but he still nursed less last night. When do I get concerned and take him to the doctor? He's still a super happy baby but this seems a bit worrisome?

I would take him if he completely stops eating or throws it up

You’re not alone! My girl has been the same way. I’m thinking it’s teething/getting over a cold. I recently learned there is such thing as a nursing strike. But hang in there mama!

My daughter did that for like a week now she’s back to normal

This happened to me too. It’s the season for respiratory and GI bugs! If there are no other symptoms (boogers, puking, inconsolable crying) it may just be a normal phase. Call your pediatrician with other symptoms or if baby has a dry mouth/no drool or doesn’t have enough wet diapers (my pediatrician said to call if it’s been more than 8 hours or less than 4 in 24 hours). Or always call your pediatrician if you’re worried! They are there for exactly these kinds of questions. You’re doing everything right!

My son usually does this right before showing signs of a cold. Keep trying, count the wet diapers to make sure he isn’t dehydrated, wait another couple days to see if he goes back to eating or starts getting sick. If he stops eating entirely then take him in
