Insurance/hospital

We are almost 29wks pregnant and The hospital we were planning to give birth at sent a letter of intent to break away from our insurance provider.. meaning if we continue with our appts in the month of April we wouldn't be covered. But it's not official yet and could result in compromise with the two companies. Do I make appts for April with a new hospital just in case? Or wait and see? If this has happened to you midway through can you share?

The unknown would make me nervous. I'd find a new doctor and keep an eye out for resolution to hopefully go back

You should be able to call your insurance and file for what I believe is called “continuance of care” which should cover you through birth and postpartum even if your hospital breaks away from your insurance. It basically forces them to accept your insurance since you’re seeing them for something that is considered unfinished care

I wouldn't risk it. I saw the bill preinsurance and for my c-section it was $35,000 and my vaginal was like $15,000. I know there's self pay discounts but still...I'd call new hospitals.

@Emily Thank you so much! I will call Monday!
